Reflection - Term 1

This term has been alright for me. In some of my classes I haven't been feeling like I have been challenged enough but I hope that that will become better later in the year.

Something that has been positive is that the students in this class have been really friendly and helpful. I also have enjoyed Mrs Mculloch as a teacher. I also enjoyed the library and the imploding cans.

Somethings that I didn't enjoy about this class is that we didn't do much English and we did way more science. I also felt that when we finally did do English it was things that I had already learnt. I also got bored of Study ladder and would've liked to be able to have more time to work on my final adventure story.

Metals and Water

Last week in the science lab we tested seven different metals and see what their reaction is in water.

The metal that reacted the most was calcium.

The metals that reacted the least were Aluminum, steel wool and copper.

Did you know that the most common metals used in jewelry are bronze, gold and silver.

Bursting Water Experiment

   

We boiled water on a Bunsen burner and tested the temperature of the water when it boiled for 30 seconds, 60 seconds and 90 seconds. We also tested the temperature of the water when it wasn't boiled. When water wasn't boiled the temperature was 0.22. 

Water boils at 100℃ but other liquids can boil at different temperatures. 

Water cannot be boiled over 100℃ but at a critical temperature water can boil up to 374℃.

Famous New Zealander Assignment and Reflection

Reflection
I am proud of my Famous New Zealander assignment about Margaret Mahy. I managed to complete it in the short time frame that we got and do it at the standard that I am proud of. I'm proud of the work I put into it and the extra information. Even though we haven't got our grades yet I think that i'll get quite a high mark for mine.

One thing that I would've changed is having to find a definition for virtue. I struggled finding the definition and then writing the definition in my own words since I already knew what they meant in the definition I looked at.

Overall I think that I did a great job in my assignment especially since I'd been away a lot and had missed of few days of time working on my assignment. I think that i'll get extended abstract for my work.
